How is Personal Geometry related to Constellation Work? How is it different?

Personal Geometry is an adapted form of Constellation Work – one that comes with some critical ideological and methodological differences. In Personal Geometry, the body is the epicenter of the field… felt-sense mapping and the externalization of internalized “body maps” and internalized relationship schemas become the locus of focus.

Personal Geometry gives clients a way to communicate without stepping into story, conscious thought, and verbal intelligence – this modality is rooted in the physiological before the psychological (state before story). Developed in clinical settings, Personal Geometry is a fast and effective way to tap into the wisdom of the body, sub and unconscious.

Of note: Personal Geometry works WITH Constellation Work, not in competition or exclusively. It’s simply a different approach with a different starting point. You can think of it as originating from the subject’s sub/unconscious body maps and personal experience.

Come join this introduction to my body-based method, informed and inspired by Constellation Work, perfect for a clinical setting, groups, or one-on-one sessions.

This class is designed for healthcare professionals and healers, seasoned or starting out, who would like to augment their expertise, practice, or course of study with this highly effective body-based method.

If you are a Constellation facilitator or student already, this class is an excellent opportunity to learn from my years working within clinical environments. Whether you are wanting to work with addiction/sobriety, need a streamlined way of facilitating due to time or other constraints (how do you work if participants can’t feel their bodies or you have too few people?), or didn’t learn mat work in your other trainings, this course will show you how!

In seven sessions, students will learn to:

  • Use a body-based approach to get and give powerful, transformative insights within minutes

  • Supercharge your existing therapeutic expertise and offerings

  • Bypass the defense strategies of the ego/mind to access the pivotal information the body knows

  • Understand the power of body maps and the meaning inherent in spatial relationships

  • Guide your clients to diagram their problematic dynamics so you can see them more clearly and they can shift them more easily

  • Recognize how classic issues like dissociation, parentification, gender conflict, trauma, and addiction reveal themselves visually

  • See an issue systemically, not just personally

  • Live the experience of your own body’s brilliance so that you can trust it for yourself and for your clients

  • And more!

There will be time to do some of your own personal work using Personal Geometry and to begin facilitating mat work in class with my guidance and feedback.

I will also offer my insight into pesky case studies (as well as annotate for you some of my own) you may want to bring and/or how you can apply this technique to your particular expertise.

In each class, there will be plenty of time for Q&A (I love answering your questions - particularly about how you can incorporate these new tools immediately from bite-size to full-on application).

Class Schedule

Class #1: Why use Mat work? What is Personal Geometry? What is Constellation Work? How are they different? Mat Placement Experiential.

Class #2: Spatial Relationship - why does it matter and how does it reveal so much? How do our body maps and relational schemas express in illuminating patterns? How do Constellation principles and your client’s issues show up on the floor?

Class #3: Somatic Resonance - how to hone your, and your client’s, body brilliance and optimise it for insight and healing

Class #4: Externalization vs Dissociation - how to work with trauma using mat work

Class #5: Personal Geometry: streamlining Constellation Work for a clinical setting or private practice; incorporating these tools into what you already do

Class #6: Experiential and Walking the Walk: practice facilitating with your cohort. In this class, you’ll pair up and practice Personal Geometry with my supervision

Class #7: Further supervision of your facilitation practice, in break-out sessions and in the group. Individual guidance on how to incorporate these new tools into your specific practice

All classes will be held via Zoom and each class will be recorded for convenient class review.
